Citizens Forum, St. Patricks Hall (April 27th, 2011)

As several community members became increasingly concerned that Rize and the City may not be listening to the community feedback, an independent community gathering was held. Several posters were put up around the neighbourhood asking citizens to join the meeting to discuss their thoughts on “Highrises in Mt. Pleasant?”. There was much discussion about all the reasons why this building does not fit in to our community. (in-line with the community feedback). It was identified that some action was needed.

About RAMP Vancouver

The Residents Association Mount Pleasant (RAMP) is a non-profit coalition of volunteers who recognize the unique character of the community and strive to maintain this special neighbourhood. Recent rezoning applications threaten to significantly alter the complexion of Mount Pleasant, with large departures in height and density from currently permitted zoning. RAMP seeks to educate members of the public on the true impacts of proposed spot rezoning, and to work on maintaining a livable, affordable and human scale community.
